Dear NJS "Friends:"

I thought about creating a "blog" page, but decided to create a "Friends" page instead. For the very
first NJS West! "Friends" post ever, I wanted you all to read this email I got from "LJ" in Atlanta, GA.
It literally brought tears to my eyes. It was sent just a few days after the site was launched. Read on:

--->  Listen, I am very happy that y'all put together this site. Teddy is an inspiration. I have followed
his music all the way back when I was 11, all the way in Nigeria (West Africa). When I moved to
Atlanta in 1994, I had this feeling that I would meet him one day. I felt this would be one of my great
missions to the US...lol. Fortunately, I actually met him on May 11, 2006. It was God who made this
meeting [possible]. May 11th is my birthday and I was feeling down that day. I was about to get
married (the wedding was going to take place on May 27th in Nigeria) and there was a lot of family
drama and behind the scenes, wedding chaos, etc. So on May 11th, my wife (fiancé back then)
decides to take me out for my birthday dinner in a restaurant called the Blue Grotto in Sandy
Springs. She had to force me out of the house because I wasn't in the mood to go. We walked into the
restaurant and guess who I see, Teddy. I couldn't believe my eyes. I got the opportunity to spend
sometime with the man, and my wife (fiancé back then) met him. She was telling Teddy how she had
been dating a guy who talked the hell out of her ears about "Teddy Riley." That day, I felt that God
sent me a sign in form a star that my birthday was NOT a mistake. He sent Teddy to tell me God has
a purpose for me. I wish I could thank him. He mentioned he was trying to move to Atlanta and we
took a picture together. Whenever my wife and I get into it and I look at this picture, it makes me
grateful to her and reminds me of the day she forced me out of the house and I met TR. If you guys
can get in touch with Teddy I would love for him to have this picture.

Keep Swingin!!

LJ, we salute you and your "destined" meeting with the King of New Jack Swing,
Teddy Riley. For that reason, we thought what better way to celebrate than to
feature a Teddy Riley/Bernard Bell track,
"A Friend," from The Winans 1990 CD
Return. Enjoy!

Your Friend,
Keith "ZappMan" Crenshaw
